After downloading above 4 files , now let’s move on next step.
ROOTING :
WARNING- DO ROOTING ON YOUR OWN RISK, WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU DID SOMETHING WRONG AND BRICKED YOUR DEVICE. SO MAKE BACKUP BEFORE ROOTING.
- Install adb fastboot in your PC.
- Now copy ‘TWRP RECOVERY’ to ‘C:/adb’ (rename the filename from twrp-2.8.7.0-cancro.img to twrp.img , not must , but it will make the procedure easier )
- Copy update.zip and update-2.zip in internal memory of you Xiaomi MI4
- Now turn off your mi4.
- turn on you phone in fastboot mode, by pressing ‘VOLUME DOWN+POWER ON’
- Now connect your phone via USB in your PC.
- Now open ‘C:/adb’ in your pc, and click ‘SHIFT+RIGHT CLICK on MOUSE’ and click on ‘Open Command Window here’
- A Command window will open.
- Type this command now – ‘fastboot boot twrp.img’ (it will temporarily install TWRP recovery in your phone)
WE WILL INSTALL ‘TWRP TEMPORARILY BECAUSE XIOAMI OTA UPDATES WILL ONLY INSTALL VIA STOCK MI RECOVERY. AND SECOND THING YOU ONLY NEED TO USE TWRP ONCE. IF YOU STILL WANT PERMANENT THEN USE THIS COMMAND – ‘fastboot flash image twrp.img’
10. Now TWRP recovery will open in your MI device .
11. Now select install zip and choose update.zip from device.
